Gayle Middle School has the honor of being the Thinkfinity Model School in the entire state of Virginia.  Thinkfinity@Gayle is a partnership with the State Department of Education and Verizon Foundation to utilize online resources to advance student achievement. Thinkfinity.org provides a free online resource to advance student achievement, including top-quality standard-based lesson plans and student materials, interactive tools, and educational web-links. Thinkfinity.org provides teachers, instructors and parents additional tools to help increase student performance today while at the same time, creating literacy learners of tomorrow.

Gayle Middle School hosted the Thinkfinity@Gayle Showcase
February 19, 2009.

As the model school, a team of Gayle teachers under the direction of Dorleita Ballard, Gayle’s TRT, and Jean Weller from DOE have been using the Thinkfinity.org website resources to plan and implement learning objects into their lesson plans classroom.  These teachers then shared their experiences in the Showcase.  Parents, fellow Stafford County Public Schools’ teachers and Administrative personnel, government officials, and Verizon Foundation personnel had the opportunity to observe how Thinkfinity Gayle teachers are integrating Thinkfinity.org as a valuable resource to enhance instruction with engaging strategies that implement technology in the classroom.
